“It exceeds our expectations because we had our doubts that it would work this well for this price point.”
The Laboratory
They are a team motivated students and professionals that are working together to discover new solutions for robotic systems. Started as a Fontys centre of expertise project, They have since grown to a team of diverse and expert members all with a passion for Industry 4.0. They compete in some of the worlds most advanced robotics competitions to challenge ourselves, push forward innovation and meet likeminded individuals. They share their knowledge with companies to help them automate and bring the fourth industrial revolution to those who want it.
The Challenge
The RoboCup is an international competition where people from all over the world are competing in different robotic leagues. They as RoboHub Eindhoven participate in the RoboCup@Work league. The RoboCup@Work is one of the newer leagues within the RoboCup that focuses on Industry 4.0 robotics. The aim is to create an open-source robot that can autonomously navigate through a dynamic environment, search for specific objects using vision and precision handling of these objects using a robotic arm. So they need a low-cost and high-performance robot arm that meets their competition needs.
The Solution
Lite6 has a built-in control box that attracts RoboHub Eindhoven team, they can easily mount it on the AMR, and can program it with open-source SDKs. The IO of the end of arm makes their gripper integrated easily. Its performance exceeds their expectations, they doubted the performance before because of the lowest cost.

Because of the price to performance. It exceeds our expectations because we had our doubts that it would work this well for this price point. Also, it does not need a big control box which was the biggest plus point for us. The technical setup is easy and straightforward.
