Background

Manufacturing increasingly requires quality consistency and traceability. Manual visual inspection is subjective and fatigue-prone, while inconsistent part placement increases measurement variation and weakens Gage R&R. Adding labor alone cannot deliver stable, scalable inspection.

Industry Pain Points

Subjectivity, Variation, and Fixed Cells

Manual visual inspection is subjective and prone to fatigue, missed defects, and false judgments.
Inconsistent part placement increases measurement variation and weakens Gage R&R.
Frequent product changeovers make fixed inspection cells difficult to adapt.

Why UFACTORY Cobots

Cost and ROI 01

Cost and ROI

Competitive hardware cost gives small and midsize manufacturers and integrators clear advantages in total procurement, integration, and project payback.

Open Vision Interface 02

Open Vision Interface

Built-in Gigabit Ethernet provides an open, high-speed connection for third-party cameras, barcode scanners, QR scanners, and other inspection devices.

Open Development 03

Open Development

ROS/ROS2 packages and Python/C++ SDKs help build test sequences, Pass/Fail branches, MES uploads, and other inspection logic.

Flexible Changeover 04

Flexible Changeover

Lightweight construction, drag teaching, and graphical programming support faster product changeover and lower retrofit cost for multiple inspection tasks.

Process Consistency 05

Process Consistency

±0.02 mm repeatability keeps each part in the same position and pose for cameras, gauges, or fixtures, reducing placement-related measurement variation.

Labor Value Release 06

Labor Value Release

Robotic inspection helps reduce fatigue-related missed defects and lets workers move from repetitive visual checks to higher-value tasks.

Applications

Visual & Optical Inspection
The UFACTORY cobot positions parts in front of cameras, microscopes, or optical inspection systems with consistent orientation and repeatable placement. It helps automate surface defect checks, appearance inspection, label alignment, and component presence verification — reducing manual handling while improving inspection consistency.

Dimensional Metrology
The UFACTORY cobot transfers parts to gauges, vision measurement systems, laser scanners, or other metrology equipment with stable positioning accuracy. It keeps each part presented in a consistent pose, helping reduce measurement variation and supporting more reliable dimensional inspection across repeated production runs.

Functional & Electrical Testing
The UFACTORY cobot loads products into test fixtures, presses buttons, connects test points, and transfers parts between testing stations according to the inspection sequence. It automates the repetitive handling around functional and electrical tests while keeping the final pass/fail logic controlled by the testing equipment.

Leak Testing
The UFACTORY cobot handles parts before and after leak testing, placing them into fixtures, holding them in position, or transferring them to pressure, vacuum, or sealing test equipment. It helps standardize loading and unloading steps, reducing operator variability in repetitive leak inspection workflows.

Traceability & Verification
The UFACTORY cobot presents products to barcode scanners, QR code readers, OCR cameras, or label verification systems for automated identification and record matching. It helps connect inspection results with product traceability data, reducing manual scanning errors and supporting consistent quality documentation.

Pick & Sort for Rejection
After inspection equipment determines pass or fail, the UFACTORY cobot picks and sorts parts into accepted, rejected, or rework locations. It removes repetitive manual sorting from the quality line and helps ensure defective parts are separated reliably before reaching downstream processes.
